Liberty defeated Griggsville-Perry 10-9, giving all three teams a 1-1 record. The Titans were awarded the title based on fewest runs allowed. Ryan Runge and Cam Mitchell each doubled and drove in three runs in West Hancock's win over Liberty. Austin Hardy pitched the Titans to the win. West Hancock had a 6-2 lead after two innings in its game with Griggsville-Perry, but the Tornados tied the game on a grand slam home run by Ison Smith in the fourth inning. Griggsville-Perry took an 8-6 lead, but the Titans scored a run in the sixth and got a solo home run from Paxton Harmon in the seventh to tie the game. The Tornados, however, regained the lead in the top of the eighth and held on in the bottom of the inning for the win. Harmon went 3-for-4 with three runs batted in, and Hardy was 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the loss to Griggsville-Perry. Runge was 3-for-3. Cody Allen was 2-for-3 with a run batted in. Dalton Miller had a double and two runs batted in, and Devin Diveney finished 2-for-5 with a double.
Smith drove in six runs to lead Griggsville-Perry. Jason Hobson settled down after a rough start to pitch seven innings for the win. Brock Rumple pitched the eighth inning and earned the save. West Hancock, 13-6, plays at Unity today.
