Home » Baseball NewsTitan baseball off to a big startApril 7, 2010 Warsaw High SchoolTitans score in every inning of winPublished: Monday, April 5, 2010 2:04 PM CDT ASTORIA, Ill. -- A six run second inning was the difference for the West Hancock Titans in a 15-12 win over the South Fulton Rebels in a baseball game Thursday.Devin Diveney hit an inside the park home run in the top of the first inning, but South Fulton scored four times in the bottom of the inning to take a two-run lead. West Hancock answered in the second inning by taking advantage of six walks by South Fulton pitcher Braden Wherley. The Titans led 8-4 at the end of the second inning and extended the margin to 11-4 in the fourth. The Rebels scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth to pull to within four. Both teams scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings. The Titans added two more runs in the top of the seventh for a 15-9 lead. Cam Mitchell was 3-for-3 with two doubles and two runs batted in for West Hancock. Diveney drove in three runs. Kendall Summers had a double and three runs batted in. Dalton Miller had a double and two runs batted in. Ryan Runge drove in a run, and Paxton Harmon had a double. Cody Allen pitched 4 2/3 innings for the win. He allowed nine hits and two walks, while striking out one. Harmon pitched the final 2 1/3 innings for the save.
West Hancock, 2-0, hosts West Central today and Unity Tuesday.
