Colbi Tyre signs with Coastal Georgia

Colbi Tyre has signed a scholarship to play golf for the College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Ga.  Coastal Georgia is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association.   She is the daughter of Jim and Tammy Tyre.

Colbi has participated in cross-country, softball, swimming and golf during her athletic career. She has helped lead her golf team to four region championships and a state runner-up.   Colbi has earned all-region golf for three years, all-state golf in 2008, and Most Outstanding Golfer for 2009. 

Coach Mike Cook of Coastal Georgia commented:

"Colbi Tyre is the type of student-athlete I am looking for.  We should be able to build a strong program at Coastal, especially with the help of Colbi.  She has not peaked as a golfer, she has a great swing, Colbi is a great student and she wants to work hard to get better and will have the opportunity here.
