Brock Deatherage: Capping Off A Stellar Career

January 11, 2014
By Kevin McCloskey of Western Alamance High School

With his second straight appointment to the NCPreps 3A All-State Team, Brock Deatherage caps off a stellar football career at Western Alamance.

Had Deatherage not decided to accept a baseball scholarship to NC State, the multi-talented Warrior senior would have had many football offers from which to choose.  On the table already for Brock were D1 offers from ECU and Arkansas State; as well as a bevy of offers from FCS schools including Bucknell, Elon, and Charlotte (just to name a few).

To cap off his career, Deatherage was recently named to the NCPreps.com 3A All-State Team.  This marks the second year in a row in which Deatherage received this prestigious honor.

In addition, Brock also made All-Conference, All-Area, and All-Region.

Statistically, Brock put up big numbers in multiple categories on both offense and defense.

2013 Stats

151 tackles (454 career tackles)

5 fumble recoveries

3 interceptions (13 career interceptions)

217 yards rushing

417 yards receiving

6 TDs

3 year All-Conference

3 year All-Region

3 year All-Area

2 year All-State

And, to top it off, Deatherage never missed a game during his entire 4-year career at WA.

Congratulations Brock!

We wish you the best and look forward to following your baseball career!
