December 9, 2013
Western Alamance High School

Story by Keith Thomas

Western Alamance held its annual soccer banquet Thursday evening at St Marks church with Coach John Pardini and Assistant Jordan Loomis handing out several awards and all 19 players receiving “Letters” and soccer pins.   During the ceremony, Pardini praised his players,  Assistant Coach Loomis and First Responder Keith Windley for the work and dedication they put in day to day.  Pardini also thanked the parents for their support in letting him run the team without any outside interference.   He summed up the evening by saying this was the most enjoyable seasons he has coached and could not be more proud of a group of young men than this year’s team.

Individual Awards went to:

“White Letter” award – Yaser Iftikhar for his leadership and leading by example as a “Student Athlete”

“Defensive Player” award – Will Thomas for his ability to stop the other team’s scoring attacks.

“Offensive Player” award – Paschal Geoffrey for his ability to change a game in second.

“MVP” award – Josh Price (voted by the players) owning the mid-field with his speed and physical play.

Seniors, thank you so much for your dedication and hard work you provided this year.  Your leadership and experience helped produce one of the most successful teams at Western in the past 15 years.  Good luck next year in whatever you decide to do, you will be sorely missed.

Seniors are:

Josh Price

Camden Brooks

Paschal Geoffrey

Blake Moyer

Josh Maffeo
