Home » Girls' Softball NewsWA Softball: Warriors drop extra-inning game with EAMarch 8, 2013 By Theresa Bell of Western Alamance High SchoolThe 2013 Lady Warriors Softball team "finally" took the field for the first time this season on Thursday night (3/7) to face the Lady Eagles from Eastern Alamance in a Mid-State 3A conference opener for both teams, a game that was orginally scheduled for home on Tuesday was moved to Mebane due to wet field condtions. The Warriors dropped a heart-breaker in 8 innings, final score 7-8. The Warriors out-hit the Eagles, picking up 7 runs on 11 hits. Merritt Wilkinson, Peyton Hyler, and Presley Garone each collected doubles. Wilkinson, Hyler, Garone, and Madison Bell each collected RBI's. Tyler Miles recorded 11 stirkeouts on the mound. The Lady Warriors look to bounce back quickly as they travel to Rockingham County tonight (3/8) to face the Lady Cougars. Record: (Overall 0-1, Mid-State 3A 0-1)
