2012 NW Soccer Jamboree

The Varsity Boy's soccer team participated in the annual NW Soccer Jamboree on Saturday that is held every August.  Due to rain on Friday night the event was moved from NW Guilford to the Smith Soccer Complex in Greensboro.  Western won their first match 1-0 on a first-half goal scored by Jackson Lilly.  Strong defense and goaltending kept SW off of the score sheet.  Western's second game was against Southern Alamance where the Warriors gave up an early goal to go down 1-0.  Late in the first half Matthew Horner scored to tie the game 1-1.  Both teams had opportunities in the second half but the game ended in a tie.  Heavy rain then began to fall and all remaining games were cancelled.

The Boy's Varsity soccer team will open their regular season with 4 consecutive home games.  On August 20th vs Cummings, August 22nd vs NE Guilford, August 27th vs Graham and August 29th vs Southern Alamance.  Game time for the first 3 games is 6 PM.  Game time for the Southern game will be approximately 30 minutes following the JV game.

The Boy's JV soccer team will open their regular season at home on August 29th vs Southern Alamance.  Game time will be 5:30 PM.
