The Powerade State Games are North Carolina's largest multi-sport festival and one of the largest State Games programs in the United States. The Powerade State Games are hosted by North Carolina Amateur Sports, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that has rich history of hosting sporting events dating all the way back to the Mid 80's including the 1987 US Olympic Festival. The Powerade State Games of North Carolina combines athletic excellence with quality competition. Two separate tournaments – a high school senior East-West series and an eight-team underclassmen (rising sophomores, juniors and seniors) tournament – will make up the Powerade State Games high school softball competition. The graduated seniors will play a three-game series on Thursday, June 21st. The underclassmen tournament is a four-game, round-robin competition that will be held June 18th to June 20th at Forsyth Country Day School, Lewisville, NC. Players are varsity players at a North Carolina high school and were selected to the team(s) through a tryout process. Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors were chosen to represent each of the eight N.C. High School Athletic Association regions. Congratulations again Merritt on your selection and good luck in the competition, way to represent WA - very proud of your achievment!
