There is plenty of action going on around the city. But remember, each week half of the teams will be heading home. For now, let’s see where some of the marquee match ups will be…
Thursday, November 17 Only one game will be played in the area, at Galena Park between Reagan and Pearland Dawson. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Whatever score gets reported from this game will not be a surprise. No, seriously.
Friday, November 18 Cy Falls vs. Lamar – 7 p.m. at Tully What’s not to like about this game? That is if offense is your thing and both of these teams have it. The two have legitimate quarterbacks (Cy Falls – Troy Mitchell, Lamar – Darrell Colbert Jr.) who could see ball past the high school level and are surrounded by playmakers. This could end up being a high-scoring affair.
Other games of note… Katy vs. Cy Woods, 7 p.m. at the Berry Center North Shore vs. Hightower, 7 p.m. at Deer Park Deer Park vs. Pearland, 7 p.m. at Galena Park ISD
Saturday, November 19 Clear Springs vs. Port Arthur Memorial – 1 p.m. at Stallworth This game is loaded with playmakers who will be mentioned in All-Conference conversations in 2-to-3 years. For Clear Springs, athlete Marcus Johnson is playing ball at a level greater than many ranked higher than he. Chaz Edgerson is also playing great as well. For Memorial, be it Nate Holmes or Terrence Singleton, the Titans have all the fire power needed to make this game interesting.
Other games of note… Klein Oak vs. Westlake, 4 p.m. at Klein Memorial Cy-Fair vs. Cinco Ranch, 1 p.m. at Rhodes Stadium La Porte vs. Bush, 1 p.m. at Deer Park
