KSU Gets Cy Lakes' First DI Commit

September 29, 2011
By Derek Dusek of VYPE MAGAZINE - West Houston

After shredding his knee a year ago, Cy Lakes’ running back Jarvis Leverett never thought he would be in a position to play college football a year later.

Through hard work and a vision to play at the D-I level, Leverett became the first Cy Lakes' football player to commit to a BCS school.

The 6-footer verbally committed to Kansas State assistant coach Dana Dimel Wednesday night making school history.

“They’ve been with me since day one and I haven’t forgotten that,” Leverett said. “When I was at their camp this summer I got a chance to meet coach Bill Snyder in his office. He talked to me about a leadership and we share a lot of the same beliefs.”

Leverett will join Cy-Fair district mate Cody Small as the Wildcat’s most recent verbal commits.
