VYPE's 2012-13 Basketball Preview Edition The Best Ever? Future for Harrison Twins Has No Ceiling
HOUSTON: VYPE is proud to launch its 5th Annual Basketball Preview Edition and it is a slam dunk. Taking it up a notch this year, we captured our athletes at the home of the Houston Rockets -- The Toyota Center.
It is no surprise who the VYPE coverboys are this month, as Aaron and Andrew Harrison of Travis High School have caused a national hoop frenzy after committing to Kentucky a few weeks back. If Travis is able to capture the 2013 Class 5A state championship, it begs the question. Are the Harrison the best ever in Houston high school hoops?
We rank the area's Top 20 boys' public school programs as well as the boys' Top 10 private schools. After hours of research, our VYPE team feels we have it right. We also rank the Top Players entering the season and where they will be playing their college ball.
On the girls' side, the Dekaney Wildcats are looking to get the job done this spring. Dekaney reached the Class 5A state championship game, but just fell short. See what nine other teams will be trying to knock off Wildcats en route to state gold.
VYPE sits down with some of basketball's top newsmakers. Texas Longhorn coach Rick Barnes has made his living in Houston, recruiting the city's top talent. We also catch up with Los Angeles Spark Rookie of the Year Nneka Ogwumike, who starred at Cy-Fair High School.
Thanks to our sponsors, photographers, writers and designers for making this our tightest hoop issue to date. Let us know what you think, by emailing us at matt@ourfieldhouse.com. Also follow us on Twitter and Instagram @vypehouston.
