So here we go volleyball fans. It's playoff time where teams' backs are against the wall and it's put up or shut up. VYPE has seen teams get hot and make a run, while other top-ranked regular season teams flame out.

The brackets are out so let's evaluate...

In Region III Matchups

Bellaire faces Katy Taylor -- The Cards are huge up front but don't play great competition. VYPE says Katy Taylor in this one.

Cy Fair vs Hastings -- Cy Fair wins easily, then knocks off Katy Taylor, then Memorial to reach the regional semis.

Cy Falls vs Elsik -- Falls rolls to win easily in first round. Wins in second round but falls to Cy-Fair in third.

Memorial vs Lamar -- Memorial wins this matchup. Carly Freels leads the way. Mustangs go down to Cy Falls in round two.

Clear Lake vs Elkins -- Clear Lake is so balanced and Strasner and Co. Win easily. The Falcons win their second round match before falling to Pearland in regional quarters.

Sterling vs Dobie -- Dobie wins first round before bowing out to Lake.

Pearland vs La Porte -- 3-0 for Pearland, before a tough one against Clear Creek. The Oilers have too much depth for Creek and on to Lake. Pearland takes care of Lake in a classic and will face Cy-Fair in regional semis.

Cinco Ranch vs HCV -- Cinco wins easily. Then falls to Ranch in 2nd Round

MacArthur vs Cy Ranch -- Ranch wins due to competition in district play. Beats Cinco behind good net play.

Cy Woods vs Nimitz -- 45 minutes or less. Woods wins in 3. Then knocks of Seven Lakes before beating little-sister Cy Ranch to get to regional semis.

Westside vs Seven Lakes -- Seven Lakes wins in a squeaker to only get knocked off by Woods.

Dulles vs Brazoswood -- Dulles does more with less than anyone in city. They go three rounds deep.

Alvin vs North Shore -- Alvin wins first round, then falls to Dulles.

Deer Park vs Pasadena Memorial -- Deer Park just has history on their side, and experience.

Travis vs Clear Falls -- Travis knocks off Falls, who is in their first year of Class 5A. Travis beats Deer Park and gets by Dulles to the regional semis.

REGION III SEMI PREDICTION

Cy-Fair vs Pearland

Cy Woods vs Travis

REGION II

The Woodlands vs Klein -- Too much firepower for The Woodlands as they knock off Klein. Gets by Lake but then falls to Round Rock Westwood.

College Park vs Klein Oak -- CP has one last gasp beating Klein Oak, but falls in the second round.

A&M Consolidated vs Klein Collins -- Consolidated is just too rangy for the Tigers, but get bounced in second round by Westlake

Oak Ridge vs Kingwood -- The Ridge is a year away from making some noise, but Kingwood is too deep for them this go around.
