Texas High School Football Gridiron Match Up Featuring Cinco Ranch vs. Cypress Ranch & Klein Collins vs. Cypress Woods

on August 31 & September 1, 2012

Houston (August 7, 2012)—BBVA Compass Inaugural Kick-Off Classic powered by VYPE Magazine at BBVA Compass Stadium (www.bbvacompassstadium.com) featuring two days of Texas high school football gridiron match ups on Friday, August 31^st with Cinco Ranch vs. Cypress Ranch and Saturday, September 1^st with Klein Collins vs. Cypress Woods.  Fieldhouse Media Group, owner of VYPE Magazine, is pleased to announce their partnership with BBVA Compass Stadium, the new home of the Houston Dynamo and Texas Southern University football.  The event is also sponsored by Kroger.

Cinco Ranch, led by senior running back and Notre Dame-commit Jamel James, will play Cypress Ranch on Friday, August 31^st at 7:30 p.m. Cypress Ranch is led by the state’s top running back and Oklahoma-commit Keith Ford.

On Saturday, September 1^st, Klein Collins High School will play Cypress Woods at 7 p.m. Klein Collins has been a perennial state power and will be paced by Division I offensive linemen Tyler Tezeno (West Virginia-commit) and Chance Allen (Kansas State-commit).  Ready to stop the Klein Collins’ offense are Cypress Woods’ linebacker Deoundrei Davis, who has committed to the University of Texas, and Baylor-commit Alfred Pullom.

“We are excited to welcome four of Houston’s top high school football teams and their fans to BBVA Compass Stadium,” said Doug Hall, General Manager of BBVA Compass Stadium.  “High school football has a long and proud history for the schools, the players and the fans and we are thrilled to bring this match up to downtown and be a part of the legacy of these teams.”

Tickets for the both high school football games are on-sale now starting at $10 (plus service fees) and are available online at www.axs.com or www.bbvacompassstadium.com or by calling 888-929-7849.  Tickets are also available at the BBVA Compass Stadium Ticket Office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. as well as on event days. 

BBVA Compass Stadium, an AEG Facility, will be a state-of-the-art, open-air stadium designed to host Houston Dynamo matches and Texas Southern University football games as well as additional professional, collegiate and community sporting events, concerts, exhibitions, conventions and special events. Opening in May 2012, the 340,000-square foot, 22,000-seat stadium will be the first soccer-specific stadium in Major League Soccer located in a city’s downtown district.  With its downtown location, the new stadium will be a part of a true ‘Stadium District,’ which includes Minute Maid Park and the Toyota Center, as well as the George R. Brown Convention Center, Discovery Green, Warehouse Live and House of Blues.
