Cy Ranch – Finishing above .500 was not enough to get in the playoffs last year. Now with that year behind them, look for the Mustangs to come out hard and fast, in hopes of getting in on a playoff spot. There are plenty of players who will be pivotal in getting it done, but look for running back Keith Ford to play the entire season healthy and be the key piece to push the team through.
Marshall – For years, the Buffaloes have been loaded with players who are talented. Of course, last season that was the case as well. The team finished with a 5-5 record. Of course, one has to take into consideration that when coach James Williams started with the program it took some time before he was even given a full staff to help run the team. Now, with a full staff and an off season with the system in place, this should be the year that Marshall breaks through. Add to the equation that the program dropped to Class 4A, all of that should lead to Marshall playing more than 10 games.
Seven Lakes – It may be somewhat of a tall task, but new coach Lydell Wilson has made things happen when the odds are stacked against him. Now in the Katy district, Wilson should have planet of pieces to work with in order to succeed. The team found itself on the outside looking in after the 2011 season ended with a 6-4 mark. The offensive line is strong and there are more that a few good defensive players. Seven Lakes will have to knock off at least one team that has annually gone to the playoffs, but by no means is it far-fetched to think this could happen.
