Nominate your senior athlete for Republic Bank's Athlete of the Month
We appreciate your interest in nominating a student-athlete for Athlete of the Month. You may now submit a nomination on line by clicking HERE. Or you may email or fax a form. To obtain a nomination form, click on the link HERE to download the form in Word format. You may then complete the form and email it to betty.coffman@vype.com or fax it to 502-454-8339.
-Nominees must be seniors – at this time we are accepting nominees for the class of 2012 and 2013.
-Nominees must live within the eight counties served by VYPE-Greater Louisville (Jefferson, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, Bullitt and Hardin in KY and Clark and Floyd in IN), participate in a varsity sport (individual sport participants are eligible as well), and have a GPA of at least 2.5.
The selection committee evaluates nominees based on the nominators’ comments and recommendations. They are evaluated for athletic achievement and leadership shown on and off the field. The names and schools of the nominees are not revealed to the selection committee until after the voting has been completed. Nominators are encouraged to submit enough information about the athletes to give the selection committee a good idea of the athlete’s accomplishments both within sport and as community and school leaders without knowing their names or schools. Athletic statistics and awards as well as comments from coaches, teachers, counselors and parents are welcome.
Athletes of the Month are eligible to be named Republic Bank Athlete of the Year. In July, one boy and one girl from among the Athletes of the Month for that class year are selected as Athletes of the Year, and each receives a $1000 college scholarship.
Once a student is nominated for the class year, he or she remains in the nominee pool each month throughout that class year. Nominations may be updated by submitting additional information to the editor.
