In the Sixth Region, Pleasure Ridge Park (ranked #9 )advanced to the state tournament with a 5-2 victory over rival DeSales. The Panthers, now 29-7 on the season, will face #1 seed Lexington Catholic on June 14th at 6pm at Whitaker Bank Ballpark in Lexington, KY. Seventh Region action saw St. Xavier (#2) survive 4-3 over Eastern (#5). A late rally by the Eagles fell just short. The Tigers, now 26-10, move on to play Clay County in first round tournament action on June 13th. This will be a swan song for Tiger coach John Jefferson who has announced this will be his last season as the Tiger skipper. In the Eighth Region, North Oldham won their trip to state with a 13-4 victory over Oldham County. The Mustangs will meet Union County on June 14th at 11 am.
