Home » Girls' Lacrosse NewsSacred Heart Captures First Lacrosse TitleMay 23, 2011 By Dave Spoelker of VYPE MAGAZINE - Greater LouisvilleIn a match living up to its billing, #2 Sacred Heart topped #1 KCD for the Kentucky Girls Lacrosse Title last night at the University of Louisville. KCD had defeated SHA twice this year but goalkeeper Allison Eisner and company had just enough defense to allow Sacred Heart to hang on in overtime. KCD in fact had more shots on goal, 36, to 21 by SHA. For Coach Davis and the Valkyries this is the schools first title. Sacred Heart finished the season 18-4-0. KCD finished an outstanding season with a 20-4-1 mark. Sacred Heart junior Susannah Cregor was named the games MVP. She scored four goals as did senior teammate Hannah Brotzge. For KCD, senior Casey Bariteau tallied five goals. Thanks to both schools for giving us such an exciting championship match. *See below for game photos
