On Thursday, DuPont Manual senior Kiefer Hillerich (state runner up in 2012) defeated his teammate, junior Kyle Able, 222-210 to take the boys state title. Crystal Land, a junior at Bryan Station took the ladies title by defeating Scott County freshman Sarah Doyle, 233-195. Also finishing in the top four for the boys were Anthony Alvey (PRP) and Michael McCubbins (Male). On the girls side Katlyn Hoeh (Newport) and Megan Kindoll (Scott County) rounded out the top four finishers. Friday was team play with #10 seed Simon Kenton scoring an upset (3 games to 2) win over the highly ranked PRP boys in the finals. In the semi finals, PRP had eliminated Trinity 3-0, and Simon Kenton knocked out Campbell County 3-0). The Taylor County girls team scored a 3-1 victory over the Lady Panthers of PRP in their finals. In the semi finals, Taylor County defeated Graves County and PRP won a tough match over Louisville Male. Congratulations to all participants and the winners!
