By Dave Spoelker of VYPE MAGAZINE - Greater Louisville

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Our teams have been traveling all over the United States to participate in Holiday Tournaments! It has been an exciting week!

BOYS:

  1. Ballard (At 10-3 they have no losses to Kentucky teams and will start 2013 as our top team)
  2. Bullitt East (A stumble in the Whataburger Classic in Dallas gave BE 3 losses since 12/22, but they are still awesome)
  3. Trinity (Had a 2OT loss in New York on 12/30, but overall a great showing in the Big Apple. Rocks are 9-3 to start the new year)
  4. Central (Taking their 10-2 record into the new year and hosting #1 Ballard on January 8th)
  5. Collins (Had a 1 point loss in KOB to Hopkinsville, but won two after that and are 9-2 as the globe drops)
  6. Jeffersonville, IN (Red Devils are 5-1 and have rival New Albany on tap for January 4th)
  7. Providence, IN (How about those undefeated Pioneers?! 6-0 to start 2013)
  8. Borden, IN (The Braves check in our list as they have climbed to 9-0)
  9. PRP (Went 3-1 in East Aurora Holiday Classic. Taking a 10-4 record with them as the calendar changes)
  10. Elizabethtown (Say hello to Coach Haire’s Panthers as they crack the top 10 with their 7-2 mark thus far)

On the bubble: Butler, Clarksville, IN, Male, St. Xavier, John Hardin, Fairdale, Doss, South Oldham

  1. Ballard (The ladies match the Ballard guys with landing the #1 spot to start 2013. 13-2 record is awesome)
  2. Sacred Heart (Loss to Danville last week is only blemish thus far. SHA is 12-1)
  3. Mercy (Tough loss in Queen of Palms Tourney drops the Jags a spot)

  5. Butler (Ups and downs so far… 8-4 record to start the New Year)
  6. PRP (Just took an “L” from Highlands but 12-3 record thus far is super)
  7. Assumption (Best 5 loss team around these here parts partner)

  9. Bullitt East (Coach Stallings & Co. are 10-4 and looking for more)
