Tuscaloosa countdown is on for Dulles CB Smith

Watching the final seconds tick away in the BCS title game, Dulles senior defensive back Maurice Smith felt the kind of joy he hopes to experience again at least once over the next four years.

And as Alabama finished off a dominant 42-14 victory over Notre Dame, Smith instantly felt something else. He'd rather be in Tuscaloosa.

"It's tough right now seeing other guys already up there," said Smith, who gave a non-binding oral commitment to play for Alabama in June. "I want to get up there and start working."
