The Girls Basketball Playoffs

Houston-area girls basketball programs move to the second season as they enter the playoffs. There are several legit teams with state championship aspirations.

Class 5A teams to watch out for in Region III include Cy Falls, Bellaire, Hightower, Fort Bend Bush, Clear Springs and North Shore. There are some terrific individual scorers, who can carry their teams. North Shore is led by Courtney Williams while Clear Springs is paced by Brooke McCarty. Falls is loaded with a deep bench, and Bellaire is loaded with guards. It's been a battle in Fort Bend with Bush and Hightower.

Region II is tremendously strong with the likes of Dekaney and The Woodlands. Dekaney is athletic, long and deep as is The Woodlands. Remember the names Durley, Nevitt, Strickland, Bradley and Lang.
