Mansfield wins boys 5A state golf championship

Kolton Crawford's 139 led Mansfield to the UIL Class 5A boys state golf team championship. The Tigers finished 1-under 575, edging Southlake Carroll and McKinney Boyd.

Crawford teamed with Andy Ariens (144), Andre Garcia (145), Luke Neeley (147), Hayden Frederick (149) to bring home the title.

Dallas-Fort Worth teams dominated the 5A state tournament at Jimmy Clay Golf Course in Austin.

Carroll won second-place in a playoff. Carroll was led by Matt Gilchrest's 73-68 - 141. The Dragons were also paced by Vince Martino (144), Blake Pugh (147), Corbin Kasten (149) and Matt Isler (161).

Boyd was led by Branson Davis (142), Vincent Whaley (145), Zach Cabra (146), Derek Oland (149), Carson Stepier (154).
