Celina lineman Jake Raulerson stood out at the University of Texas’ first one-day camp of the summer in Austin.

Raulerson, an up-and-coming Class of 2013 recruit impressed Texas coaches playing offensive tackle and defensive end against UT 2012 commits such as Hassan Ridgeway and Curtis Riser, according to Orangebloods.

Raulerson elected to attend the first one-day camp in order to showcase his skills against older, more experienced recruits. Prospects his age and class usually wait until the second one-day camp. Raulerson’s decision apparently paid off.

“It went great, it went awesome,” Raulerson said. “I knew ahead of time that this was when the commitments would be there,” Raulerson said. “I got a chance to go up against all of the best guys… I felt like I did well.”

Raulerson said Texas coaches took notice of his abilities.

“I talked with Coach (Stacy) Searels, Coach (Oscar) Giles and Coach (Mack) Brown and they all said that they wanted me. Of course, Coach Searels wants me on offense and Coach Giles wants me for defense, but Coach Brown said that I could play anywhere for them,” Raulerson said. “I love Texas. I love the staff and I love the environment.”

Raulerson said he plans to attend camps at Alabama, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas A&M.
