Our VYPE DFW staff and contributors put our heads together to select this year’s All-VYPE Softball Team including three Most Valuable Players, one each for Greater Dallas, Greater Fort Worth and North Texas/Collin County, respectively.

We also allowed our readers to choose their picks for Most Valuable Players through our Readers’ Choice Polls on VYPEDFW.com.

Record-breaking voting resulted in the following Most Valuable Players for the 2011 season:

Greater Dallas

Meagan Michele

South Grand Prairie  Sr.  IF

District 5-5A MVP led 5A players with 16 home runs and 64 RBIs. The UTA signee hit .529 and scored 59 runs.

 

Greater Fort Worth

Jordan Wallace

Weatherford  Sr.  P

Wallace was one of the area’s most dominant pitchers, throwing eight no-hitters, two perfect games and 12 complete-game shutouts. She was 20-2 with an 0.32 ERA and 298 strikeouts.

 

North Texas/Collin County

Hannah Newcomb

Frisco Wakeland  Jr. P

The District 9-4A MVP helped lead Wakeland to the 4A Region II semifinals with a 31-5 record, 1.48 ERA, as well as, batting .475 with 12 home runs and 58 RBIs.
