Atkins averaged 16.1 points, 5.7 steals and 4.6 assists in the regular season. Foman averaged 11.2 points, 4.2 steals and 3.9 assists. “I feel like we can get (Texas) to where it needs to be,” Atkins told the Morning News. “Coach (Karen) Aston is building it and I think we can help her do that. “It just felt like home. I’m real cool with the coaches and I feel like we can make a big thing out of UT.” Duncanville coach Cathy Self-Morgan, a former UT player, said Foman chose Texas over offers from New Mexico and SMU. Atkins reported offers from Baylor, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. Former Duncanville players Empress Davenport and Ashley Roberts are already on the UT roster. Aston recently lauded Davenport, a freshman, as her most improved player.
