McDonald's All-Americans: DeSoto's Matt Jones & Kimball's Keith Frazier

February 15, 2013
By David McNabb of VYPE MAGAZINE - DFW

DeSoto star Matt Jones and Kimball's Keith Frazier were announced as selections for the 2013 McDonald's All-American Game.  Jones has committed to Duke and Frazier still is undecided.

The rosters were made official during an ESPNU telecast Thursday. The annual showcase – which began in 1977 and has featured stars like Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and LeBron James over the years – will be played April 3 at the United Center in Chicago.
Aaron Gordon of Archbishop Mitty (San Jose, Calif.), Jabari Parker of Simeon (Chicago) and Andrew Wiggins of Huntington Prep (W.Va.) are among the headliners heading to the Windy City. Parker will be taking the floor in his hometown to face off against Wiggins, a Canadian phenom that replaced Parker as the top 2013 prospect when he reclassified in the fall.
Freddy Johnson of Greensboro Day (N.C.) is the head coach for the East while Mike Flaherty of Mount Carmel (Chicago) will guide the West.
Five members of John Calipari's highly-touted recruiting class at Kentucky earned an invite. Star Texas twins Aaron and Andrew Harrison, Montverde Academy (Fla.) center Dakari Johnson, springy forward Marcus Lee of Deer Valley (Antioch, Calif.) and versatile guard James Young of Rochester (Rochester Hills, Mich.) are all future Wildcats that will appear in the McDonald's All-American game.
The McDonald's All-American Game will be broadcast live on ESPN at 8:30 p.m. EST and will be preceded by the girls game on ESPNU (6 p.m. tip). Scroll down for a complete look at the rosters.
