Prestonwood Chr. LB Mike Mitchell commits to Ohio State

Prestonwood Christian senior linebacker Mike Mitchell committed to Ohio State Saturday during NBC’s broadcast of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl at the Alamodome.

Mitchell (6-4, 215), ranked No. 13 in VYPE's latest list of Top 100 area 2013 football recruits, picked the Buckeyes over offers from Oregon and Texas A&M. He had 174 tackles and four sacks this season.

“Coach Urban has a real good program going, you know 12-0,” Mitchell told NBC Sports. “It’s Ohio State. It’s a big program. They’re going to do big things.”

Mitchell appeared to be leaning to the Buckeyes after an official visit to Ohio State in December. He did not visit Oregon.
