UIL Championship Week Programming Includes Lake Travis Documentary, 2003 5A Division II Katy vs. Southlake Carroll Classic Game Replay
FOX Sports Southwest will provide live television coverage of nine Texas High School football state championship games from Cowboys Stadium in Arlington as part of UIL Championship Week.
UIL Championship Week will feature live high-definition telecasts of state title games in 1A Division I and II, 2A Division I and II, 3A Division II, 4A Division I and II, and 5A Division I and II.
Coverage begins on Thursday, Dec. 20 and runs through Saturday, Dec. 22 with tripleheaders each day beginning at noon CT.
UIL Championship Week programming will include a documentary on Lake Travis high school’s historic five consecutive state titles, a Classic Game replay of Katy’s 16-15 victory over Southlake Carroll in the 2003 5A Division II title game, and an Under the Lights: Best of DQ Big Game of the Week special.
FOX Sports Southwest’s UIL Championship Week kicks off on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 9:00 a.m. CT with the 2003 5A Division II Classic Game replay.
The Quest for Greatness: The Lake Travis Story, produced and narrated by FOX Football Friday anchor Jeff Power, will be televised on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 9:00 p.m. CT. The one-hour documentary chronicles Lake Travis’ unprecedented championship run from 2007-2011 to become the first Texas High School football team to win five consecutive state titles.
High School football fans can relive the season’s best DQ Big Game of the Week segments seen on High School Scoreboard Live this year on Wednesday, Dec. 19 at 5:30 p.m. CT.
Craig Way and Randy McIlvoy will split play-by-play duties on FOX Sports Southwest’s championship game coverage. Former Port Arthur Jefferson High School and Texas A&M wide receiver Shea Walker, Brownwood High School head coach Bob Shipley, Texas Football managing editor Travis Stewart, and former Houston Texans defensive end N.D. Kula will rotate as analysts.
FOX Sports Southwest’s Neil Beasley and Jim Knox, former Abilene High School and University of Texas standout Ahmad Brooks, and FOX Sports Southwest Football Friday reporter Angela Hamann will serve as sideline reporters. Ford Championship Live studio shows hosted by Ric Renner, recruiting expert Randy Rodgers and Stewart will anchor the games. High School Scoreboard Live Saturday at midnight CT will recap all state championship games.
