Home » Football NewsCarroll QB Kenny Hill named Gatorade Texas Player of the YearNovember 29, 2012 By Tim Polzer of VYPE MAGAZINE - DFWSouthlake Carroll senior quarterback Kenny Hill has been selected the 2012-13 Gatorade Texas Football Player of the Year according to a press release. The award annually recognized outstanding athletic excellence, as well as, high academic standards and exemplary character on and off the field. The Texas honor makes Hill a finalist for Gatorade’s National Football Player of the Year award to be announced in December. Hill, a Texas A&M commit, has led defending 5A Division I state champion Carroll to an 11-1 record leading into Saturday’s playoff game against Euless Trinity. He has amassed 4,110 total yards and 54 TDs in 12 games, while spending many quarters on the bench during second-half routs.
