Southlake Carroll vs. Arlington Martin

A rematch of last year’s Region I final features defending 5A Division I state champion Southlake Carroll (9-1) and Arlington Martin (7-3), one of the area’s most successful postseason programs of late.

Carroll features three-year starting quarterback Kenny Hill, a Texas A&M commit, who has produced 2,291 passing yards, 905 rushing yards and 42 combined touchdowns – while often being pulled in second-half blowouts.

Martin brings the best defense Carroll has faced since being shutout in a season-opening loss to Allen. The Warriors will attempt to shake off last week’s 44-26 loss to Arlington Bowie that cost Martin the District 3-5A title. The availability of running back Kyle Hicks, a Texas commit, will be a game-time decision after leaving the Bowie loss at the end of the first half.
