Class of 2013 College Baseball signees Tyler Alexander of Southlake Carroll, Sheldon Neuse of Keller Fossil Ridge, Bret Boswell of Rockwall-Heath and Plano West’s Billy McKinney will highlight another strong North Texas class of college baseball signings Wednesday. Top baseball players -- Southlake Carroll 3B Kenny Hill, Torii Hunter of Prosper and Colleyville Heritage RF Cody Thomas -- will sign in football. Hill has committed to Texas A&M as a quarterback, Thomas to Oklahoma and Hunter as a wide receiver with Notre Dame. All plan to play dual sports if they attend college. As usual, each of these players could sign after the major league draft next June. Mustangs coach Sam Carpenter said Carroll pitcher Alexander, a prized lefty with velocity, movement and control will sign with TCU and that Alexander is rising on the top pro prospect rankings for the major league baseball amateur draft in June 2013. Other notable's in Wednesday's early college baseball signings for 2012 are several of the country's top players with sign in baseball. Neuse will sign with Oklahoma. The shortstop-pitcher had his stock rise dramatically with a summer throwing in the low 90 MPHs. Neuse was one of the area’s top quarterbacks in football but opted not to play his senior season. Neuse has been rated among the nation’s top players since he was a freshman. West’s McKinney also has been a standout player since he was a varsity starter for the Wolves as a freshman. McKinney has committed to TCU. While Plano West has struggled in recent years, McKinney has solidified himself as one of the state’s top hitting outfielders. Boswell is a slick-fielding, shortstop with a lightning-quick left-handed bat who helped lead Heath to the Class 4A state title last season. He’s been committed to Texas for nearly two years.
