Home » Soccer NewsPlano West state girls state soccer guests of WFAA's HS SpecialApril 29, 2012 By David McNabb of VYPE MAGAZINE - DFWPlano West’s girls soccer team, fresh off a record-setting fifth state girls championship two weeks ago, gets a guest appearance on Sunday night’s High School Sports Special which air approximately at 11 p.m. on Channel 8 (wfaa.com). Several Wolves players and coaching staff were taping the session at WFAA studios in the afternoon. Plano West defeated Katy Seven Lakes, 1-0, at Georgetown’s Birkelbach Field on April 14. First-year coach Carley Phillips and players talk with host George Riba. Phillips has big part of the Plano West legacy of state soccer success. She played on two West state qualifiers, including West’s last state title in 2002. Phillips’ older sister Paige also played at West. West has won state titles in 2000,’01, ’02, ’07 and ’12
