DeSoto SG Matt Jones commits to Duke

DeSoto guard Matt Jones, one of the nation's top Class of 2013 shooting guards,  has committed to Duke. The junior called Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski Monday to choose the Blue Devils over offers from Florida, Kansas, North Carolina and Texas.

"Matt has been an avid fan of Coach K and the Duke Basketball program since he wasa young kid," his family said through a press release. "He always said he would like to play basketball for Coach K someday. Hecan’t believe his dreams have come true. Throughout this recruiting process, he has hadthe opportunity to build great relationships with some of the best coaches in the game: Coach Roy Williams, Coach Scott Drew, Coach Donovan, Coach Bill Self & Coach Rick Barnes to name a few."

Jones (6-4, 185) hit 45 percent of his three-pointers as a sophomore and drew attention this summer with his play alongside Prestonwood Christian's Julius Randle, averaging 18 points per game for the Texas Titans in Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League.
