A junior for Heath's highly rated baseball program, Boswell started for the Hawks and hit .391 with four homers and 26 RBI as a line-drive hitting lefty with some power. Boswell (6-0, 175) is considered by many as the top North Texas baseball prospect for '13. Boswell is polished in the field and a refined hitter very reminiscent of Brandon Loy of Rowlett who has started for Texas since he was a freshman in 2009. Boswell is expected to challenge for a starting spot his freshman season at Texas in two years. Boswell also stars for the DBAT Mustangs. Boswell was recruited nationally after several strong showings in premier showcases the last two years. He visited Baylor, TCU and Arkansas along with Texas.. "Texas made the offer to Bret back several months ago," Heath coach Greg Harvey said. "He's been highly recruited with offers from about every Division I program in the surrounding area and anywhere he's been interested in. They as a family took trips and one was to Austin, and then they did a lot of research and really made sure they were making the correct choice."
