Garland Lakeview has approved Kendall Miller as its new football coach to replace Don Willis. Miller has led South Oak Cliff to a 20-3 record the last two seasons.
Miller, a 1993 Skyline graduate, is a former Arlington Bowie assistant coach under Kenny Perry and Miller also is the son of longtime Dallas ISD coach Ocell Miller, who was considered an iconic defensive coordinator with more than 20 seasons at Roosevelt. Ocell Miller spent six seasons as Samuell's head coach before retiring in 1997.
Miller spent seven seasons as an assistant at Arlington Sam Houston, where he served as the offensive coordinator for three years. Miller was an assistant at Arlington Seguin in 2007 before moving to Bowie. Miller was an all-district wide receiver as a junior and senior at Skyline, where he also played baseball and basketball. Miller played baseball at Tarleton State.
Lakeview, which has one of the smaller enrollments to compete in the Garland ISD’s UIL Class 5A district, won six games the last three years and has only won five games in a season twice in the last decade.
