        SPORTS UPDATE

FOOTBALL

McKinney Boyd 56, McKinney 21

Running back Bryan Driskell rushed for 333 yards and seven touchdowns to
help Boyd clinch a District 10-5A playoff berth. McKinney quarterback Robert
Somborn completed 28 of 42 pass attempts for 318 yards and three touchdowns.
Connor Fuentes caught two touchdown passes for McKinney. TV Williams added a
touchdown reception.

Boyd (6-4, 3-2) next plays Jesuit in a bi-district playoff game, Friday at 7:30 p.m. at
John Clark Stadium in Plano.

McKinney finishes the season 5-5, 1-4 in District 10-5A.

McKinney North 62, Denison 24

North running back Justin Jones rushed for 245 yards and three touchdowns.
Ronald Jones added 100 yards and three touchdowns. Receiver Marcus Nobles
caught two touchdown passes from quarterback Ben Dutze.

North finishes the season 3-7, 3-4 in District 13-4A play.

McKinney Christian 45, Flower Mound Coram Deo 0

Connor Doyle rushed for 110 yards and four touchdowns on just 7 carries.

McKinney Christian (5-5, 2-2) next plays Friday at 7:30 pm at Bay Area Christian in
League City.

VOLLEYBALL

McKinney Boyd qualifies for state tournament

McKinney Boyd earned its second straight trip to the UIL 5A state volleyball
tournament by beating Plano, 3-1, in the Region II tournament in Huntsville.
Boyd (37-7) will play New Braunfels (45-4) in a 5A semifinal at 5 p.m., Friday at the
Curtis Culwell Center in Garland. If the Broncos advance, they could get the chance
to avenge last year's state finals loss to Coppell.
