    SPORTS UPDATE

FOOTBALL

McKinney Boyd 42, Lewisville 14

McKinney Boyd running back Bryan Driskell rushed for 274 yards on 37 carries
and scored his school career-record 47th rushing touchdown. Driskell totaled four
touchdowns and also had 43 receiving yards. The Broncos rushed for 439 yards of
their 543 total yards.

Boyd (3-2) is idle this week. The Broncos next play Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. against Plano
West at Ron Poe Stadium.

Denton Ryan 35, McKinney 28

McKinney running back Jonathan Shannon produced 36 yards (190 rushing, 173
receiving) and scored four touchdowns. Shannon averaged 24.7 yards per catch
including a 66-yard pass from quarterback Robert Somborn. Somborn passed for
293 yards and three touchdowns.

McKinney (4-1) is idle this week. The Lions next play Plano, Oct. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at John
Clark Stadium.

Sherman 42, McKinney North 21

Tre Sanders had two touchdown catches and running back Trey Smith rushed for a
touchdown. Sanders hauled in a 56-yard touchdown pass from Ben Dutze and a 12-
yard touchdown pass from Gabe Constintine.

North (0-4) next plays Royse City, Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Ron Poe Stadium.
