Home » Boys' Basketball NewsReport: Texas offers FM Marcus' Marcus SmartFebruary 19, 2011 VYPE MAGAZINE - 8-5AMarcus Smart, all-state small forward and Most Valuable Player of the 2010 All-VYPE Basketball Team, has been offered a scholarship by Texas coach Rick Barnes, according to Gerry Hamilton of 247Sports.com. Smart (6-4, 205) reportedly has also received offers from Baylor, Kansas State and Marquette. The junior is averaging 13.9 points, 8.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists for Marcus heading into the playoffs. Smart helped lead the Marauders to the 5A state tournament last season.
