Last Night in 8-5A Girls Basketball

District 8-5A co-leader Plano East overcame a 29-24 halftime deficit to rally past Allen, 60-49. Jasmine Caston scored 16 points for East (23-6, 9-1). Paris Bridges had 11 and Jordan Goforth added 10. Allen (6-19, 1-9) was led by Kaylin Clayton’s 18 points.

Plano West 67, Flower Mound Marcus 50

Plano West’s 15-3 run in the third quarter led to a 67-50 win over Flower Mound Marcus. West (22-6, 9-1) was led by Rachel Wilson’s 12 points.  Hallie Sample scored 14 and Ashley James had 11 for Marcus (12-17, 4-6)

Plano 43, Flower Mound 39

A fourth-quarter rally pushed Plano past Flower Mound, 43-39. Plano (13-10, 6-4) was led by Stephanie Afunugo and Lauren Reed with 10 points each. Nicole Smallwood scored 13 points and Ashley Deary added 10 for Flower Mound (13-13, 4-6).

Lewisville 60, Hebron 47

Lewisville remained within striking distance of first place with a 60-47 win over Hebron. Lewisville (21-8, 7-3) was led by Makayla Roberson’s 18 points. Kalyn Williams had 16 and Jada Butts added 12. Rayvon Christian scored 13 oints and Rachel Beaty had 11 for Hebron (8-21, 0-10).
