Denton Guyer ATH Dominic Ramacher: DFW's fastest rising 2012 recruit?

One of the Dallas-Fort Worth area’s – if not the state’s – fastest rising Class of 2012 recruits is Denton Guyer TE/LB/ATH Dominic Ramacher. He’s certainly one of the most versatile recruits getting attention of late.

Ramacher (6-3, 230) reports offers from Arizona, Arkansas, Baylor, Colorado, Louisiana Tech and Minnesota.

Gerry Hamilton of 247 Sports recently tweeted that a Michigan offer was imminent.

Ramacher said those offers have included multiple positions. Arizona offered him at linebacker. Arkansas and others picture him playing H-back or fullback.

Ramacher’s size and speed have made him a versatile player at Denton Guyer, a program that jumped from Class 4A to playing in the 5A Division II state final. He played tight end and fullback, and was the team’s backup quarterback behind Oklahoma State signee J.W. Walsh.

Ramacher also made news early in the 2010 season when his mom -- a tireless booster club volunteer - was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Guyer coach John Walsh wanted Ramacher to score the team's first touchdown of its first season in Class 5A.

Prior to Guyer's season-opener against Waxahachie, Walsh instructed his starting offensive skill players to fall down at the 1-yard line if they had a chance to score. After running back Treavon Walton followed his coach's plan -- confusing most of the spectators in attendance, Walsh replaced his son, J.W. Walsh, with Ramacher.

Ramacher, who had never taken a regular-season snap and wasn't in on the plan, was filled in on Walsh's plan. He scored the tribute touchdown to his mom.
