VYPE National Top 25 High School Football Rankings: 9.17.12

Upsets rocked the VYPE National Top 25 High School Rankings this week. Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.) maintained its No.1 spot with a 44-34 win over Central (Miami, Fla.), but four teams – including three in last week’s top-10 – were victims of upsets.

No. 2 Grayson (Loganville, Ga.), No. 6 Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.) No. 8 Skyline (Dallas, Texas) and No. 23 Trinity (Euless, Texas) all lost.

Back-to-back dominating victories over Jenks, Okla. and previous No. 23 Trinity (Euless, Texas) shoots DeSoto (Texas) up the rankings. Remember, Trinity opened the season with an overtime loss to No. 4 Bellevue (Wash.).

Near-Misses

The number of Top-25 upsets could have been worse. No. 7 Trinity (Louisville, Kent.), No. 9 De La Salle (Concord, Calif), No. 12 Lake Travis (Austin, Texas) and No. 18 Moeller (Cincinnati, Ohio) all won by eight or less points.
