It’s a Great Week to be a Viking!

Congratulations to NHS Boys Cross Country for winning the team championship at the TJ Invitational!

Welcome to Homecoming week for alumni and current Vikings!  We have been eagerly anticipating this week since we came back from summer.  Student Leadership and the PTSA have demonstrated incredible organization and thoughtfulness for all of our events.  This will be a great week!

Our Scholar-Athletes are demonstrating incredible teamwork, positive sportsmanship, and the will to win!   Thanks to those that have come out to support our teams.   Viking Nation continues to grow as seen at our home games, especially the Junior Varsity Football game last Saturday.   Great showing!  Let's double our attendance for the following games below.  Bring a colleague, family member, and/or friend to any of the following games!

Cross Country runs the Horizon Runners Roost Invitational @ Adenbrook Park

• NHS Students release at 1:30 and CEC students release at 1:15

Junior Varsity Soccer vs East High School @ 4:00 @ East High School

• Transportation leaves NHS at 3:00
• NHS Students released at 2:30 and CEC Students at 2:15

Freshman North Girls Volleyball vs JFK HS @ Home 4:30 PM

Junior Varsity North Girls Volleyball vs. vs JFK HS @ Home  5:30PM

Varsity North Girls Volleyball vs JFK HS @ Home @ 7:00PM

Wednesday September 28^th

Varsity North Girls Softball vs. JFK HS @  JFK HS  4:15PM

• Transportation leaves North HS @ 3:00
• Release NHS students at 2:30 and CEC at 2:15

Thursday, September 29^th

Homecoming Pep Rally in the Gymnasium @ 1:45 pm

Powder Puff Game:  Junior girls vs Senior Girls @ 3:30 pm on our Home Field

• This game will be officated by Coach A-Rod, Mr. Yeater, Mr. Conlin, and Mr. Pellicer

No Varsity, JV, or Freshman games scheduled

(Fall Sports Picture Day rescheduled to October 6^th and October 7^th )

Friday, September 30^th

Cross Country runs the Dave Sanders Invitational @ Clement Park

• NHS students release at 1:00 and CEC students release at 12:45

Homecoming Parade begins at 4:30 p.m

Chili Cook-off in the cafereteria at 5:45 pm

Bonfire at 7:50 pm

Saturday, October 1^st -  Homecoming Game

Junior  Varsity Volleyball attends the Lincoln HS Invitational Tournament

• Transportation leaves at 7:00 a.m

Pep Bus leaves NHS at 10:30 a.m for All City Stadium

Tailgating begins at 11:00 a.m at All City Stadium

Varsity Football vs Holy Family High School at 1:00 p.m

Homecoming Dance begins at 7:00 p.m

Winter Sports

The First official practice for our Winter Sports (Boys/Girls Basketball, Wrestling, Girls Swimming and Diving) is November 11^th.   Off season workouts have begun:

• Boys/Girls Basketball:  Workouts begin at 6:45 p.m.  Boys and girls alternate use of the gym.  Please see the main office for a schedule.
• Boys and Girls Swimming and Diving:  Open Pool for girls (winter season) and boys (spring) swim team are  Mondays @ 3:45 and Wednesdays @ 2:40. 

·         Wrestling:  Beginning October 4^th, Tuesdays and Thursday from 5:00-6:00.
