Challenge Time for the Creative Thinker
October 25, 2013By Patti Harrell of Vardaman High School
For the students who want to keep the mind sharp over the weekend, here's a puzzle that will challenge your knowledge of the English language as well as your reasoning skills.
The rules are simple...
1. I have replaced each letter in a quote with a different letter.
2. Like assigning variables in the math classroom, once a letter has been assigned to represent a letter in the quote, it must always represent that letter. That is, if L represents P in one word of the quote, L must continue to represent P in all other words.
3. This is not one-to-one; that is, though all L's are P's, P does not have to represent L.
Hint for this quote: All L's are P's, but the P's are not L's!
