Decertification: Reebok Vector TLS and Maruuci Bat CAT 5

Decertification of :
Reebok Vector TLS 33-Inch Non-Wood Baseball Bat
 
Reebok Vector TLS 33-inch non-wood baseball bat has been decertified and is no longer legal for use during interscholastic baseball games. This is a very troubling development for many interested parties. The fact of the matter is the NFHS received notice that the bat was decertified at the highest amateur level in the world (the NCAA). It was incumbent for us to do our due diligence with receipt of the information and take similar action on behalf of the children we represent through our membership. We have shared that information with our state association membership who has shared it with their constituents.

There is no good time to decertify any product because people trust that the certification mark means just that, it is certified and compliant with the rules. This is not the case for this product. I would offer that you contact the manufacturer to understand their resolution strategy with this predicament. Thank you again for your understanding.

Maruuci CAT 5 33-inch non-wood baseball bat

To all high school athletic directors, baseball coaches and baseball umpires,

I regret to send the attached notice because we all believed the baseball bat certification process would be simpler this year. Unfortunately, although previously approved, the Maruuci CAT 5 33-inch non-wood baseball bat has now been decertified.

I am aware that many, if not most, coaches and parents have already purchased bats for the school baseball program. I apologize for the inconvenience.
