Wildcats Shutout 1-0 in OT Loss at Northwest

October 5, 2010
By Noah Assareh of Union High School Soccer

On Monday night, the Wildcats faced the Northwest Lions who hail from the powerful Suburban West Conference.  The exciting matchup at Northwest High School pitted two competitive soccer teams against eachother and turned out to be quite an entertaining evening of soccer.

The Union defense comprised of goalkeeper Louis Berra, Captain Will Sammet, Matt Hulsey, Zac Rucker, and Jordan Cahill combined to form an iron gate that the Northwest offense could not break down until overtime.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the Union offense could not put together a consistent attack and was shutout for the second game in a row.

The Wildcats (6-6) look to return to their winning ways as Union opens conference play at home against the St. Clair Bulldogs (8-4) on Tuesday night.
