Home » Girls' Soccer NewsTop Ranked St. Dominic Bests Union in State PlayoffsMay 24, 2012 By Noah Assareh of Union High School SoccerThe Union Lady Cats (21-4, #8 in Missouri Class 2 Rankings) saw their outstanding season come to a close after falling to St. Dominic (25-2), the unanimous #1 team in the Missouri Soccer Coaches Poll, 6-0 at St. Dominic on Wednesday night. Union would find themselves down only 1-0 at halftime, but St. Dominic's highly-talented depth proved to be too much for the Lady Cats to handle in the second half. Union was unable to mount any kind of consistent comeback effort against the top ranked team in the state. Union finishes the season with a record of 21-4, 2012 Class 2 District 7 Champions, 2012 Four Rivers Conference Champions, and in a great position to build on this season's success with almost all of the team returning next season. Congratulations to Union for an exciting season, and good luck to St. Dominic as they continue their quest for another Missouri State Championship.
