November 28, 2012
Union Wildcat Baseball

Former Union Wildcat baseball player Ashton Goudeau (2010) had a terrific first year as a minor league pitcher.  Pitching for the Surpirse Royals of the Arizona Rookie League, an affiliate for the Kansas City Royals, Goudeau finished with a record of 1 win - 1 loss, with 1 save and a 3.97 ERA.

Goudeau, picked in the 27th Round of the 2012 Major League Baseball Draft, threw in 13 games.  In those games, he's pitched 34 innings, giving up 31 hits with 16 walks while striking out 43 opposing batters.

Goudeau was invited to the Royals Fall Instructional League along with 85 other Royals minor leaguers.  While there, he pitched for the Royals High A/Double A team, winning Pitcher of the Week for a game he pitched against the Milwaukee Brewers.  In that game, Goudeau pitched 4 innings to get the win, striking out 3 while walking 1 and giving up 1 hit.
