Goudeau Drafted by the Royals

June 12, 2012
Union Wildcat Baseball

Former UHS Wildcat Ashton Goudeau was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the 27th Round of the Major League Baseball Draft on June 6.  After graduating from Union, Goudeau played for two seasons at Maple Woods C.C. in Kansas City.  He had accepted a scholarship to continue playing college baseball at Lousiana-Lafayette but has indicated that he will most likely sign with the Royals and begin his professional career with one of the Royals short-season teams in 2012.

At Union, Goudeau was a Class 3 all-state pitcher who helped lead the Wildcats to a district championship in 2010.  Goudeau pitched the first 10 innings of the memorable 15 inning,  7-6 victory over Borgia that sent Union to the MSHSAA playoffs.
