Recap of Games - 4/30 thru 5/4

May 8, 2012
Union Wildcat Baseball

The week of April 30 was a tough one for the Union Wildcat Baseball team.  The game vs. Warrenton on Monday was rained out and a makeup date could not be found.  On Wednesday, the Wildcats played uninspired baseball and lost to Waynesville 15-4.  Jordan Weaks took the loss on the mound as UHS made 5 errors, walked 7 batters, and hit two Waynesville players.  Union played much better on Thursday, but the opponent was state-ranked Francis Howell Central.  The #4 rated Spartans defeated the Wildcats 14-0, with Ashton Dehn taking the loss on the mound.  Trey Fink and Austin Bentlage also pitched for the Wildcats.  The one highlight from the game was Tyler Johnson broke the UHS career hits record in the third inning with a single between first and second bases.  After the two losses, Union's record on the season is 8 wins and 12 losses with the final week of the regular season left to play.
