Wildcats Advance to Potosi Tournament Championship

The Union Wildcat Baseball team defeated Salem and Kingston on Saturday night to advance to the championship game of the Potosi Tournament.

The Wildcats defeated the Salem Tigers 10-0 in 5 innings.  Ashton Dehn got the win, pitching 4 innings of 1 hit ball.  He had 4 strikeouts with no walks.  Logan Williams had 3 hits at the plate with 2 runs and 1 RBI.  Jordan Weaks had 2 hits with 2 RBI, Ashton Dehn had a 2 RBI double, and Austin Bentlage had a 2 RBI single.  Tyler Johnson had 4 stolen bases in the game to move closer to the school record for career steals.

In the second game of the tournament, Union defeated Kinston 3-2.  Jordan Weaks got the win from the mound, with Tyler Johnson picking up the save.  Weaks opened the scoring with an RBI double in the 4th inning, and two more Wildcat runs would score on an error in the 5th inning.  Trey Fink started the rally with a 2-out single.

The championship game will be played Friday, April 27 at 8:00 pm.
